During this workshop, you’ll make paper from organic materials. Work with organic materials and learn, step by step, how paper is made. You’ll prepare the materials, make pulp, and form your own sheets of paper. There’s plenty of room to experiment with texture, thickness, and appearance. No experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome to join.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll go home with your own handmade paper. You can use this paper for drawing, writing, or in the bookbinding workshop on June 6, where you’ll turn it into a handmade booklet.

Good to know:

  • The workshop is in English.
  • You can participate in the follow-up workshop on relief printing and pamphlet binding to turn this paper into your own notebook.

In collaboration with Rossy Liu

We are organizing this workshop together with Rossy Liu. Rossy is a book artist and freelance visual designer. She studied Graphic and Media Design in London and later at the Design Academy Eindhoven. In London, she worked at a Book Arts Workshop and gained extensive experience in bookbinding studios. That is where her love for paper and the craft grew. In 2024, Rossy taught several bookbinding courses at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where she guided participants in creating their own publications.
At CKE, Rossy shares her knowledge and guides the creative process. We previously organized a bookbinding workshop together, which was a great success.
