Using Procreate, you’ll create an illustration of a mouse to accompany a short story about a mouse provided by the teacher for inspiration. You’ll start by creating an abstract background using the digital watercolour brush, and then, on a separate layer, draw your mouse with a digital pencil (you’re also welcome to trace an example). You’ll colour in the mouse using digital soft pastels.
You don’t need to know how to draw or paint. You’ll be given a brief technical explanation tailored to this exercise, after which you can get stuck in step by step at your own pace. Let your imagination run wild. You don’t need to have a specific idea in mind beforehand. The great thing about drawing and painting with Procreate is that undoing mistakes is very easy, and carrying on is even more fun.
CKE has 8 iPads available, but you’re of course welcome to bring your own iPad (with the Procreate app) and an iPad Pencil!
