During this workshop, you’ll be introduced to techniques from various classical Indian dance forms and try out some moves to well-known, rhythmic Bollywood songs. We’ll practice basic footwork and artistic hand gestures, and discover how to express emotions and stories through movement.
You’ll learn a short choreography to a Bollywood song of your choice. You can count on energetic moves, catchy music, a wonderful introduction to Indian culture, and above all: lots of fun!
Workshop schedule (2 hours)
- Warm up and introduction – 15 min
- Footwork technique – 15 min
- Hand gestures – 10 min
- Choreography to music – 25 min
- Break with informal exchange – 15 min
- Choreography – 30 min
- Group dance and sharing – 10min
The class primarily for adults of all levels of learning, beginners are also welcome. The activity is open to all genders. Children above the age of 12 years with some background in dance are welcome to participate as well.
