Mechanics and art come together in AUTOMATAMANIA. During this workshop, you will design and build an automaton, a mechanical object that moves on its own. You will work with small rotary motors and simple materials. Step by step, you will create a moving work of art from scratch. No experience is necessary. In two hours, you’ll learn the basics and go home with a working object. It gets even better. Your creation will be on display at CKE during the summer holidays. The workshops are on Friday 5, 12, 19 and 26 June. Join us at a time that suits you.

In collaboration with Kruisstraat Original
AUTOMATAMANIA is a co-creation by CKE and Kruisstraat Original. Artist and maker Lynne de Kluizenaar from Kruisstraat Original and Creation Station leads the workshops. Lynne shares her knowledge of technique and form and helps everyone with the creative process step by step. CKE is the client and provides the venue, materials and an open and accessible setting. Together, we are creating a series of workshops where creativity and technique come together and in which everyone can take part.
