We Can Be Heroes is an interdisciplinary art project by HaaKaan Gestel and CKE. The project explores identity, time and change. Here, heroism does not mean being perfect, but having the courage to show who you are – with everything you were, are and will become. The exhibition shows that everyone has multiple sides: strong sides, caring sides, and sides full of longing and resilience.
Participants explore their own stories. They work with themes such as growth, shame, strength, gender, resistance and adaptability. On display and to be experienced are artworks, performances, music, spoken word, theatre and dance. We Can Be Heroes is an open and inclusive exhibition where you can look, listen and recognise yourself in the stories of others. The exhibition is open from 1 June to 20 June at the Pennings Foundation in Eindhoven.
The opening is on 1 June at 1.00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
In collaboration with HaaKaan Gestel and vdZandt studios
We Can Be Heroes is the result of a two-year intensive collaboration between HaaKaan Gestel, CKE and vdZandt studios. Within the project, these parties are working together on an interdisciplinary art project.
The exhibition is taking place at the Pennings Foundation in Eindhoven. The project has been made possible in part by the Pennings Foundation, Neos, CKE and the Fund for Cultural Participation.
