Taking the Next Step with Photography
This course is for you if you’ve already been practicing photography and are ready for the next step. You already photograph independently, have some knowledge of composition, and enjoy challenges like backlighting or twilight. This 32-lesson course builds on our Beginners Photography Course Part 1 and Part 2, but it’s also suitable if you already have extensive experience.
The course is designed for those who want to learn more about narrative and conceptual photography and discover their identity as a photographer. The course consists of 2 blocks of 16 lessons each.
In the first block, you’ll be taught by our photography instructor and work independently and in groups on assignments focused on content, creativity, storytelling, and concept. You’ll experiment with light and lighting, both outdoors in low light and at home with simple light sources.
In the second block, you’ll have lessons with Hella Martens and explore who you are as a photographer. You’ll also work on your own photo exhibition at CKE. You’ll study other photographers, be inspired by photographic movements, delve into the history of photography, and look toward the future. From documentary to conceptual photography and from post-processing to preparing your images for print, everything is covered. And of course, we’ll visit a museum or exhibition as well. In short, you’ll learn a great deal from these two passionate, experienced instructors!

Good to know:
- You need your own camera and editing software.
- You should have completed the Beginners Photography Course Part 1 and Part 2, or have an equivalent level.
