DARK is more than just a Halloween festival. It’s a large-scale cultural participation project in which hundreds of Eindhoven residents collaborate to create a unique festival evening filled with theater, music, dance, art, and unexpected encounters.
During the kick-off, you’ll kick off the process together with other participants. You’ll be introduced to the project, meet the creators, and get to know the other participants. You’ll also receive more information about the rehearsals, workshops, and the various roles you can take on during the festival.
Whether you want to act, be an extra, perform, dance, help with set construction, or are simply curious about what DARK is all about: everyone is welcome. No experience is necessary. Enthusiasm and a desire to create something special together are all you need. Throughout the program, you’ll work alongside other participants toward DARK on October 31. Under the guidance of professional creators, you’ll develop characters, scenes, and performances that will become part of the festival.

Activities for DARK participants
Whether you’re participating in DARK as an individual or as a group, you’ll be working together with other creators, performers, and volunteers toward the Halloween Festival on October 31. Here’s what’s on the schedule:

TROMP International Percussion Competition Round 1: Here I Am
Round 1 of the TROMP International Percussion Competition centres on identity, creativity and individuality. Spread across three halls at CKE, you’ll discover ten different musical worlds, with each percussionist telling their very own story.
Workshop Taiko: Japanese drumming with Battiti Music
Discover the energy of Japanese taiko in this free workshop. Open to all skill levels, including beginners with no musical background.
TROMP Next Gen Mallet Competition: Round 1
For the first time, TROMP Percussion is organising the TROMP Next Gen Mallet Competition: a new competition for young marimba and vibraphone players aged between 15 and 30.
DARK rehearsal series for actors
Work together with other participants to prepare for the DARK Halloween Festival in Eindhoven. During this series of rehearsals, you’ll develop characters, scenes, and performances that will be part of the festival.
