Corina Maduro

Coordinator Talent Development

What do you do at CKE and why here in particular?

“Everyone with creative talent deserves the opportunity to discover and develop that talent. This can be done, for example, through our Talentstroom programs or through the projects we organize in schools and neighborhoods. My mission is to identify and nurture all the creative talent in this city. Where possible, we help this talent pursue vocational or higher education in the arts, such as at a conservatory or art academy. But regardless of the final choice of school or career path: developing creativity is always valuable. It is (if you ask me) the most important thing we need for a bright future.”

What is your connection to art and culture?

“Art and culture have been a constant thread throughout my life. As a child, I was introduced to them through the local community center and the library, which enriched my world enormously. These days, you’ll often find me in cinemas, concert halls, or at festivals, exploring special museums and exhibitions.

When I make holiday plans, I usually start by looking for a great museum or a unique exhibition somewhere in Europe. So far, that approach has taken me to some of the most beautiful places.

I also organize book clubs, because as an avid reader I love discussing books together. As a bonus, it’s a wonderful way to meet new people.”
