What do you do at CKE?
“At CKE I’m one of the hospitality volunteers; you’ll find me behind the bar in Café C during events and sometimes on Saturday mornings.”
Why at CKE?
“With my improvisational theatre colleagues I performed in Café C. Shortly afterwards I saw the call for volunteers. Because I live nearby and want to give something back to the neighbourhood, I signed up.”
When do you go home feeling good after a working day?
“I work full-time at TU/e as a lecturer, trainer and coach, and I go home feeling good when a student has learnt something and feels seen. Behind the bar at CKE it’s the same. If someone feels welcome and goes home happy, my shift has been a success.”
What is your connection to art and culture, and do you spend time on it in your free time as well?
“I enjoy visiting museums and concerts and travelling to discover other cultures. I wouldn’t call myself particularly creative with my hands, but I enjoy the talent of others. I’m mainly creative with language and play weekly in an improvisational theatre group.”
