‘Anchored, Drifting’ is a wind-inspired workshop that uses KITE as both a powerful symbol and a playful medium for storytelling among non-Western first-generation migrants in the Netherlands to explore the layered experience of diaspora. A kite is always in-between: rooted, yet unrooted, tethered to a place, but drifting somewhere else. Together, we’ll reflect on migration not as a story of where we come from, but as an ongoing, fluid process of where we are right now and the uncertainties, possibilities, and transformations that come with it.
What will we do:
During the workshop, you can make your own kite using materials you bring, or personalise it through collage, drawing, and design. You will learn the technical skills of kite-making and create your own kite with guidance and assistance. Your kite becomes more than an object: it becomes a personal expression of movement, belonging, and the ever-changing process of defining home. After the workshop, we can go outside and fly the kites together, weather permitting.
Please mind: The workshop is ONLY for first-generation, non-Western migrants living in Eindhoven.

About Rossy Liu
Rossy Liu is a visual storytelling artist with a crafting and visual art background. She has collaborated with cultural centres in Eindhoven to host bookbinding workshops, combining riso print and relief printing. Recently, she has expanded her practice to explore kites as a new paper-related medium, drawing inspiration from the symbolism of kites to explore themes of migration and identity.

Voor het eerst organiseert TROMP Percussion de TROMP Next Gen Mallet Competition: een nieuwe wedstrijd voor jonge marimba- en vibrafoonspelers van 15 tot 30 jaar.
DARK repetitiereeks voor acteurs
Werk samen met andere deelnemers toe naar DARK Halloweenfestival Eindhoven. Tijdens deze repetitiereeks ontwikkel je personages, scènes en performances die onderdeel worden van het festival.
Workshop verhalen vertellen
Tijdens deze gratis workshop verhalen vertellen leer je hoe je mensen mee neemt in jouw persoonlijke verhaal. Ontdek technieken als zintuiglijk vertellen, en emoties en dynamiek toevoegen, om de verbeelding van je publiek te prikkelen. Deze workshop bestaat uit 2 delen: tijdens de verhalenavond op 9 oktober presenteer je je verhaal.
TROMP Next Gen Mallet Competition: Finale
De TROMP Next Gen Mallet Competition is een nieuwe wedstrijd voor jonge marimba- en vibrafoonspelers van 15 tot 30 jaar. Deze avond strijden zes finalisten op het podium van CKE voor de eerste prijs.
