Studio Vrijheid on Liberation Day
On Sunday 5 May, there was a celebration in the courtyard of De Huiskamer for Refugees. There was soup and treats, music, embroidery, and we were treated to inspiring talks about freedom and oppression.

Of course, there were the refugees who feel at home at De Huiskamer, but also residents from the surrounding homes. As you can see in the photo, even State Secretary Maarten van Ooijen paid a visit. Meanwhile, the city echoed with the fireworks and chants from PSV’s championship celebrations.
The day was reported by Studio Vrijheid, our own mobile news studio. The studio was operated by reporters from De Huiskamer for Refugees, creating new conversations and introductions. Studio Vrijheid is here to stay and will be used at many more freedom-related events.
