Visual arts studio (ages 4-8)
Discover materials, colour and form in this creative children’s workshop.
In this studio, children ages 4 to 8 embark on a creative journey of discovery. They learn to use their imagination, explore, and experiment. Through drawing, painting, and crafting, they take their first steps in the visual arts and discover their power of imagination. During a class, for example, they might be given a key along with the question: what does this key unlock? They then create that world themselves. We also explore art movements that serve as inspiration. The instructor encourages the children and shows them how to create something special using simple materials. Children learn to observe, create, and present. There is plenty of room for their own ideas. At the end of the class, parents/guardians come to see what was done during the lesson. The artwork may be taken home at the end of the course.
Good to know:
- Children should wear clothes that can get messy or bring an apron.
