Directing for adults
Have you always wanted to direct but have no idea where to start? In this course, you’ll gain the foundational knowledge and practical tools you need to confidently begin your career as a theater director. You’ll learn to work from content and sources of inspiration and develop them into a clear theatrical concept. Topics covered include scene construction, conflict, acting coaching, stage directions, and the use of theatrical elements such as lighting, sound, set design, and audience engagement. You’ll also delve into various theatrical styles.
In each class, you’ll alternate between the roles of director and actor. Ultimately, you’ll work toward creating your own scene of up to ten minutes, which you’ll present during De Ontdekking in January.
