Advanced improvisation class for adults

In this course, we explore performance that hasn’t been predetermined. We work with movement, space, and nonverbal play. You let meaning emerge rather than defining it in advance. Are you a performer with some experience in improvisation and interested in exploring and developing this further? Then you’ve come to the right place. Bring your curiosity, step onto the floor, and discover how the play unfolds: will it become absurd, playful, or full of energy?

Over 18 weeks, we break away from familiar forms of improvisation and dive deep. We’ll explore how to concentrate on improvising a scene of 15 minutes or longer, where dialogue and physicality are the focal points. What possibilities does your body offer you in an improv scene? How does that relate to the dialogue? Is it logical or, on the contrary, absurd? How do you deal with physical exhaustion in a scene, and what kind of performance does that yield?

Please note that this is a physically demanding course. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily.
