Music exploration

This course for people with intellectual disabilities is all about experiencing music. Singing, dancing, and playing percussion instruments together are regular weekly activities. We start with a new song and review music from previous lessons. We also move to the music and practice a simple dance routine.

The atmosphere is relaxed and familiar. There’s plenty of room for fun, repetition, and recognition. Around Sinterklaas and Christmas, we’ll sing well-known holiday songs. In the second half of the year, we’ll work toward our own performance, which will take place in a quiet setting in the concert hall during the final class.

Our specialist instructor knows exactly how to help participants grow in self-confidence, sense of rhythm, and expression in a pleasant way.
