Junior dance talent programme (ages 9–12)

Are you in the upper grades of primary school and dream of a future full of dance? Do you feel completely at home when moving to music? Then this programme is made for you!

In the Junior Dance Talent Programme, you will have weekly lessons in classical ballet and modern dance, led by professional and enthusiastic dance teachers. You will train your body, develop your technique, and dance together with other children who are just as motivated as you. Classical lessons are accompanied live on the piano, making it a truly special experience!

You will explore everything involved in dance and discover whether you have the ambition to continue to a dance school in the future. And who knows? After primary school, you could move on to the Talent Programme for secondary school.

The programme lasts 36 weeks, divided into 6 blocks. You will learn from professional teachers, work on in-depth themes, and be guided by your own mentor. Together with your group, you will receive coaching and participate in peer review sessions—because you learn most from each other.

What is the Talent Programme?

  • 36 weeks of subject-specific lessons every Tuesday evening.
  • 2 hours per week of advanced lessons.
  • Learn from experienced arts teachers.
  • 6 Saturdays with masterclasses, workshops, and inspiring excursions.
  • 1 major end-of-year event where you present your work or perform.

Entry requirements

  • Language: Dutch.
  • You have talent, motivation, and a desire to grow.
  • You have at least 1 year (preferably more) of experience in a course within this discipline.
  • You are already taking 1 or 2 courses that suit your development, either at CKE or elsewhere.

Please note: The costs of these additional courses are not included in the Talent Programme.

Register before 1 August. After your registration, we will schedule an intake and guide you through the following steps:

  1. Home assignment
    You will receive a home assignment from us. You have until 14 August to submit it. Show us who you are as a creator!
  2. Introduction and workshop
    If there’s a match, we will invite you to a creative workshop on 19 August from 17:30 to 19:45 at CKE. You will meet your mentor and other young talents.
  3. Personal notification
    After the workshop, you will find out whether you can start in the Talent Programme. You will receive a personal message.
  4. Final registration
    Accepted? Congratulations! Your mentor will send you a confirmation, and you will officially be part of the Talent Programme.
  5. Start of the Talent Programme
    On 26 August, your artistic journey truly begins.
