Introduction to graphic printing techniques
Create your first graphic artworks using various printmaking techniques.

In this two-part course, you’ll discover the technical and artistic possibilities of various printing techniques. We’ll start with art and technique. You’ll learn about ink, printing materials, and composition in a playful way. You’ll learn by doing and, above all, by inspiring one another. By working with printing techniques, you’ll learn to think in terms of lines, planes, and structures—and not to be completely fixated on the end result. The printing process always has surprises in store, so exactly what the final result will be remains a surprise.
In the first part of the course (starting in September), you’ll work with gelatin prints, drypoint, Tetra Pak etching, and stamp making. The second part of the course starts in January, where you’ll create monoprints, work with stencils, and learn to cut linoleum.
