Arts education in primary schools
Arts education deserves a permanent place in every school – including yours. At CKE, we work with certified arts educators (with a higher education degree in the arts) who can teach for extended periods in music, dance, theatre, visual arts and spoken word – fully aligned with your school’s curriculum. Or opt for our free museum lessons, offered in collaboration with the Van Abbemuseum.

An arts educator in the classroom
An arts educator in your classroom: someone who challenges, inspires, and engages pupils. They nurture creativity and train essential skills – creative thinking, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Our educators are creative, didactically experienced, and work with continuous learning pathways. They tailor their teaching to your school’s needs and your pupils’ world. Truly bespoke education.

How to bring a CKE arts educator into your school:
- Decide the period and frequency.
- Choose when: during or after school hours.
- Select your disciplines: music, dance, theatre, spoken word, visual arts – or a combination.
- After-school lessons are also possible.
- Optionally: training sessions for teaching staff.
Costs, subsidies and free museum lessons
For the 2025–2026 school year, an arts educator costs €56 per teaching hour (excluding materials and travel time). We work with both lesson-related and non-lesson-related hours. Based on your wishes, we’ll provide a customised quote. Need support or advice? We’re happy to help.
Did you know our museum lessons for years 5–8 at the Van Abbemuseum are completely free! Get more info here.

Building arts education into the curriculum
We’re committed to making arts and culture a structural part of school education. CKE is a partner in the national scheme Cultuureducatie met Kwaliteit (Culture Education with Quality – CmK). This initiative focuses on using continuous learning pathways from the “cultural toolbox” (Culturele Ladekast). More and more schools in Eindhoven are joining. As part of CmK, our professional arts educators take on different roles:
- Arts teacher in the classroom
- Co-teacher supporting your staff in delivering their own lessons
- Programme designer of custom projects in visual arts, media, dance, music and theatre
