Jazz evening with Jazz @ the Shack
Led by Richie Reichgelt, a house band packed with professional jazz heroes from across the Netherlands opens the evening. After that, all jazz cats are welcome to take to the stage and play together with them. Bring an instrument, step onto the stage and join in. Prefer to listen? Take a seat, order a drink and let the improvisations, grooves and solos wash over you.
Jazz @ the Shack, an initiative by Stichting Kunstival, and CKE join forces once again for an evening full of live jazz. The 1st edition was a great success and has clearly left everyone wanting more.
House band: The Anna Sollewijn and Chris Muller Quartet
The Anna Sollewijn and Chris Muller Quartet brings a fresh and personal take on the Great American Songbook. Singer Anna Sollewijn and pianist Chris Muller share a great love for jazz and soul. You can hear that in their warm sound and unique style. With playful improvisations, rich harmonies, and influences from classical and soul, they add a new color to familiar jazz pieces. After successful solo projects: Anna’s debut EP and Chris’ big band album Turning Thoughts, they joined forces with bassist Cas Jiskoot and drummer Tim Hennekes.
The idea for this project arose during their time in New York, where they experienced the jazz scene up close. There they discovered how timeless this music is and developed a desire to return to the roots of jazz.
