What is your connection to art and culture?

“Art and culture enrich my life in so many ways. It inspires, surprises, allows you to dream, and sometimes even irritates. It creates connection, stimulates creativity, and provides a broader perspective on the world. As a child, I was creatively active in drawing and crafting. Studying Art and Cultural Studies felt like a natural step. For me, culture is something that nourishes, touches, and connects you.”

Do you also spend your free time on art and culture? If so, how?

“I’m mainly an enthusiastic consumer of culture. Theatre, music, film, books and exhibitions – alone or with friends and family. I love it! Immersing myself in culture is a pure source of inspiration and enjoyment for me.”

Why CKE in particular?

“CKE makes a difference in Eindhoven society, and I love contributing to that. It’s a place full of creative people, where you can create something wonderful together. I feel at home here: after years living north of the rivers, Eindhoven gives me a warmth I didn’t realise I was missing. I’m proud of what we achieve together here.”

When do you go home feeling good after a working day?

“When I’ve been able to help someone, had an inspiring conversation, or seen a project grow. And when I’ve laughed a lot, met new people, and contributed to the wonderful things CKE does for the city.”
