What is your connection with art and culture and with CKE?
“I have been teaching at CKE with great pleasure for over 36 years. In addition, since 1987 I have been performing as a jazz pianist in my trio and in other musical ensembles, and in my free time I have been playing the accordion at an amateur level since 2005.”
Why or when did you decide to become a teacher?
“My teacher at the music school, Loes Dirken, has been a great inspiration to me. At the age of 14, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. As a teacher, I especially value the joy of playing. My lessons are friendly and welcoming, and everyone, at any level, is truly engaged in art. I go home feeling happy when students leave my classroom with a smile and when I manage to bring out their musical potential.”
